One of 12 Westerns made in 12 Months, our story begins on a Sunday morning as a horse thief named Paul is scheduled to hang. The wife of the local deputy makes a decision that will forever change her life. Mabel is in love with the arrested man. Will she remain loyal to her husband Jonathan or follow her heart? And what will they all do as the evil Marshal Graham comes to town?

The cast features Megan Therese Rippey, Shayn Herndon, Robert Anthony Peters, Vincent Stalba, John Marrs as Sheriff Bob, and Les Best as Marshal Graham. 

The Third of 12 Westerns: Director’s Note

She was the Deputy’s Wife is one of the first Western scripts I wrote. Its long period of development, from 2014 till production in March of last year, allowed the story to develop and the characters to deepen. I feel we went into filming with a solid script but unforeseen circumstances derailed this one more than any other. The COVID pandemic, which was nothing more than a blip on our radar at the beginning of the month turned into a crazy crisis that would change all of our lives.
